Radio an ting

Been doing a weekly show on Dublin’s Raidió na Life the last three years now. As far as FM radio in the city is concerned, they’re way ahead, especially once the sun goes down! Jungle, dub, punk, electronica, there’s a heap of shows here that I could be bigging up but I’ll keep it for a seperate post.

In the meantime, here’s the tracklist from last night’s show. Kicking off with some of this Moombahton stuff (or is it just reggaeton??), followed by some Afrobeat cuts and then onto a Middle Eastern tip courtesy of Hamid al Mou (one of my big favourites at the mo, for more check the Awesome Tapes from Africa blog, and this is also pretty tasty) and wayneandwax‘s mashup track ‘Big Gyptian‘. A bit of dubstep follows, some older tracks in there from the likes of Mark One (playing in Galway this weekend courtesy of the Dub Culture heads) and Dubchild, alongside fresh slices from Kanji Kinetic and Murderbot (more on the aforementioned tunes’ crowd smashing potentials later…). Delighted to rinse out Rag and Bone’s new signing, Gremino, gonna have a hype 12″ dropping from that boyo soon.

Finishing up with some forthcoming !Kaboogie material (sampler number three on the way, one and two available here and here, respectively) as well as African Simba’s ‘Father’, out now on All City Records.
