Rabble Magazine successfully funded for the next year!

Wednesday, May 22nd, 2013

A thousand thank yous to all who dug deep and donated to our cause. Rabble will be kept in print for another year this way thanks to everyone out there who supported us and shared the campaign. We’ll remain an independent, reader-supported (and funded!) publication dedicated to delving deep and delivering the stories that matter to so many of us but are rarely touched by the mainstream media. We’ll continue to do a few funny bits as well sure.

There’s still five days to go, so we’re keeping the campaign alive until Monday noon. We’ll start prepping all the goodies for our donors shortly afterwards. At this point in time we’re 105% funded, so any extra will go towards running costs (such as rental on a little office space).

You can watch it soar and soar here.

Thanks, yis legends!

Reasons to Support Rabble

Donal Fallon from the Come Here To Me blog giving a few reasons to support Rabble and help with our funding campaign.

Rabble FundIt Campaign

Monday, April 8th, 2013

Today Margaret Thatcher died, and Rabble launched its FundIt campaign. Our last print issue was before Christmas. We’ve been working hard on getting this campaign ready in the meantime. We’re lookng for €9,000 to cover print costs for our next four issues, and really step it up in terms of the quality of the paper.

The response since we put out our first issue has been overwhelming, and I firmly believe that this is the sort of publication that the country has needed for a LONG time. For it to continue, we really need to get our readers behind us, and for a small contribution each, we can really get this newspaper growing and delve deep inna investigative journalism stylee.

In terms of the rewards for funders, my own contributions will include prints, workshops, DJ sets and murals for peoples homes. We’ve got 48 days to go, so please make support us and share this campaign as much as you can. Thank you!

Joinery Fundit Campaign

Thursday, March 14th, 2013

The Joinery opened in Dublin in 2008. It’s a DIY art space ran by a crew of volunteers who have helped facilitate the creation, performance and exhibition of eclectic art on an absolute shoestring budget. There really isn’t another space like it in the city, and to lose it would be an absolute shame. They’re looking for your support:

Our ambition is to see the Joinery continue as an uncompromising art space in this city and this Fund it campaign will help us enact our most challenging and engaging programme to date. This programme, which will have an emphasis on event-based works including performances, screenings, exhibitions, talks and new music, will involve a network of highly ambitious and professional artists, curators, performers, musicians, writers and thinkers. The Joinery’s 2013 programme aims to build upon our reputation as one of Dublin’s most eclectic art spaces; a place that many exceptional musicians and artists now view as a second home. This programme strand will continue to support artists; providing a critical platform for both artist and audience. This Fund it campaign will also enable us to support emerging artists as part of the ongoing graduate programme, offer a second year of residencies and further expand a distinctive programme of new music by pioneering musicians from both here and abroad.

The money raised with this Fundit campaign will also give the Joinery the time to seek solutions regarding its future as an independent, sustainable art space. We need your support to make 2013 and beyond happen at the Joinery.

There’s ten days left. If they don’t reach their target, it will be a huge blow to the art scene in this city. You can join the campaign and make a contribution here.
