DabbledooMusic Showcase Night!

Thursday, March 30th, 2017

We’re having a whopper year in Dabbledoo HQ, no small thanks to the wonderful people at Social Entrepreneurs Ireland and the Elevator programme that they run, and that we’ve been part of since October last year. Sounds like an excuse for a session, doesn’t it? HELLS YUSSSSS.

Here’s the plan:

7-8: DabbledooMusic Workshop – this is our first ever workshop for adults so get down early if you want to take part, we’ll be supplying the instruments and taking you through our music education method!

8-9: DJ set from yours truly giving you the breaks and beats you needs for your hips and feets. Picked up some SERIOUS records of late so need to break em in, yeah?

9-11: Hotstepping 90s party goodtimes with ATTENTION BÉBÉ – dress to sweat!

PLUS: If you haven’t danced enough we’ll be throwing an afterparty NOT TOO FAR AWAY with FRANKIE GRIMES aka SHABBA FRANKS. We’ll be posting details bout that soooon.

Tickets (including limited number of early bird specials) available here. Facebuke event page here

Get it into ye!

DabbledooMusic Beta Launch

On Friday we launched the beta version of DabbledooMusic.com. We’ve spent the last year fundraising, planning and designing so we’re pretty happy to get it out there. Big ups to Brian Michael Thornton and Trev Finnegan for the trojan work with Shane McKenna and myself, serious crew!

Although we’ve done a LOT of high-fiving of late, we still have lots to do. At the moment, there is a full set of resources available for ‘The Clock’. We’ll be lashing up the rest of the resources once we’ve fully user-tested this. Have a mess around on the site and see what you think! If you know any teachers please pass it on to them too. There’s a Feedback button in the bottom left so please let us know what you think!

At present it’s optimised for laptops, desktops and interactive whiteboards. Keep an eye on the blog for future updates and big thanks to everyone who’s supported us so far, too many to mention!

Fundit poster

Lots on. First up, we’re having a DabbledooMusic party in the Twisted Pepper this Saturday to celebrate our successful Fundit campaign and say thanks to y’all. Get down for 8PM SHARP cos we’re gonna have a big jam session with some graphic scores (bring an instrument!), then A-Force and me are DJing, then Attention Bebe are playing live.

‘That sounds mega, I wanna go!’ you say.

‘NOMNOMNOMNOMNOM,’ we say.

Then we’re gonna hit the Grand Social where Savage and Rudimentary are crewing up to bring you a tasty line-up celebrating a forthcoming Rudimentary release which features Boxcutter, Bass Clef and Sina.

‘What about Sunday?’ you say.

‘We’ll be dancing in your kitchen still,’ we say.
