Kansas City Prophets feat. Linton Kwesi Johnson – ‘Cams’ video

Monday, September 12th, 2011

Check it: video for ‘Cams’ from !Kaboogie’s latest record. Awesome stepper of a tune with some gargantuan bass, featuring the poetry of Linton Kwesi Johnson. This video was started by Stormfield of Combat Recordings fame a few weeks before the riots kicked off in London: the timing of this, LKJ’s words and the concept of the ‘Defiance EP’ are all a bit eerie. Big up to Stormfield for this.

If yr looking for the vinyl, you can pick it up in Spindizzy and All City Records in Dublin, as well as Juno, Red Eye, Decks.de and Piccadilly Records online. Samples below:

Delighted with the line-up: savage beats from both Kansas City Prophets and T-Polar (both of whom I’ve been wanting to release for ayyyyges!), and some excellent vocals by both Linton Kwesi Johnson (!!!) and Soom-T, who might actually win the award for best received MC at a !Kaboogie night (she tore the place up at our fifth birthday party!). Details:
